RIBA Award winner
The brief was to create a house that revealed itself slowly. There is a strong relationship between the interior and the garden: each room has its own connection with the outside, creating a dramatic spatial sequence.
The diagram of the house is clear, and a simple and limited palette of materials has been used throughout. The contemporary form of the house is defined by the intersection of two volumes, with the living areas on the ground floor and bedrooms at first floor level. The architects have created large windows onto the private north-facing garden, providing views into the garden without the need for screening during the day or night. This elegant contemporary house is light and spacious and beautifully detailed.
